Hello!
I’m Mia and I’m the person behind Baby Sensory Canberra. In Term 4 I will be leading the classes every Tuesday!I also attend to all the admin going on behind the scenes at Baby Sensory Canberra. I am also a mum to two daughters.
For the last 8 years I have been a Primary School Teacher. I’ve taught Kindergarten, Yr 5 and Yr 6, so from one extreme to the other! I absolutely loved my role educating children and now look forward to educating parents and their babies. That first year of life is so important and I feel privileged I get to experience this with you all.
I moved to Canberra 4 years ago and in 2021 we started our little family.
Our daughter, Matilda, is the inspiration behind bringing these wonderful classes to Canberra. I was already familiar with Baby Sensory from living in Sydney and attended a class with my niece in 2019. So when I had my daughter, attending Baby Sensory with her was something I was so looking forward to!
I wanted to take her to fun classes whilst I was on maternity leave. I was also looking for a place to maybe meet a new friend or two. But most of all, I wanted a place where I could continue to learn about my baby and feel supported in that first year of motherhood.
I couldn’t find this and after some research learnt that Baby Sensory had not yet made its way to Canberra!
Fast forward and here we are… Baby Sensory Canberra!
I’m so passionate about bringing these classes to Canberra (and surrounding NSW suburbs) so every parent can feel empowered and supported about their baby’s development in the first year of life. I want to give parents the opportunity to make special memories together with their baby and also learn something new, have fun and make some friends.

Hello,
I’m Jodie! You will can find me filling in for Mia or Jess if they are absent or giving them a helping hand as a class assistant.
I am a mum of 6 - two steps sons, two sons and two spoilt dogs.
I am a trained Early Childhood Educator with over 20 years of experience in the classroom. In the past 5 years I have studied more than any other time in my life! I became a celebrant, a casual teacher at CIT and recently to become a Baby Sensory class leader.
Children - weddings - dogs and being in the outdoors are the loves of my life. Being a boy mum , I spend many weekends water or snow skiing, fishing and I can even ride a motorbikes.
I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the Baby Sensory Canberra community and I look forward to meeting more of you in the near future.

Hello, I'm Jess! You will find me leading the classes on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Term 4!
I have a passion working with infants and have spent the last 9 years working as a swimming instructor for children ages 6 months and up!
The feeling of accomplishment when a baby does something for the first time with their parent or carer and knowing that I could help facilitate that is one of my favourite feelings in the world!
I am very excited to join you and your little one on their Baby Sensory experience!
