Ellie

Hi, I'm Ellie and I've been part of the Baby Sensory Team in Melbourne since we first opened here in July 2016. I am a qualified Primary School teacher and have over a decade of experience working within the British and Australian education systems. Given my career choice it isn't surprising that I have always been passionate about learning and brain development in children, and the effect experiences have on their physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. In 2015 my husband Adam and I had a beautiful baby boy who we named Albi. Like most first time parents we really didn't have a clue what we were doing and sought advice, support and help from our family and friends. A resounding message from all of our British friends was, 'You must go to Baby Sensory classes. They're magical. You'll learn so much about how Albi is developing and it'll give you loads of ideas for games to play at home'. So I set off to find a local class. Imagine my disappointment when I realised the nearest one was in Adelaide! Fast forward and I am now a fully trained Baby Sensory Class Leader. The program is indeed magical and unlike any other programme. Through extensive training I have learnt that every single Baby Sensory activity has been created to promote connections within the brain that help support future physical, social, emotional and intellectual learning. Each week is different, with more classes designed than there are weeks to run them, so even if you join us when your baby is just a few weeks old you will never experience the same class twice. At every expo we have run since we launched Baby Sensory in Victoria we have met with families from Regional Victoria who have been so disappointed when they discovered their nearest classes are 100km away. Now we have an alternative to offer! Our recently launched innovative Baby Sensory @ Home program enables families from all over Victoria to access our award winning program from the comfort of their home (you can even join us in your PJs!). Each week families enrolled in our Baby Sensory @ Home program will be guided through a 30 minute Baby Sensory classes by me. The class runs at 11.00 and 12.30 every day of the week giving you lots of opportunities to join us. Each week is a brand new class during whicn I'll share lots of developmental info with you and include a wide variety of activities that you can easily replicate at home to support your baby's development. I really am so excited to finally be able to share the magic of Baby Sensory with families from all over Victoria.
