Why Baby Sensory?
It is now widely recognised that babies learn more during the first year than at any other time in their life. In fact, their brain doubles in volume during this period due to connections formed as a direct result of their exposure to a range of sensory stimuli
Baby Sensory is a unique programme specifically designed for babies from birth to 13 months old. Baby Sensory Classes take a holistic approach in promoting physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth and learning during this precious first year.
Classes are packed with an incredible variety of sounds, smells, sights, textures, music, dance, singing, signing and more. We want you to enjoy every second of this miraculous development. Our classes also provide a safe community for you to meet other parents and share your experiences. And if your baby needs to feed, sleep, or snuggle quietly at any time during a class, then that's ok with us!
Every single activity is carefully designed - from the music, to the length of the activity, to the specialized equipment used - all with your baby's development in mind. From physical, cognitive, social or emotional development. AND every single week is different. In fact, you will never experience the same class twice, even if you attend for a full 13 months!
What happens if I can’t attend a class?
One of the most common questions we get asked is what happens if I can't attend a class. We are able to offer make-up classes for missed classes throughout the term (up to a maximum of 2 per term), provided that you notify us prior to your missed class (email or text is best). Make-up classes can be taken at any one of our venues, and must be taken during the currently enrolled term.
What is the difference between the classes with different age ranges?
The activities in all of our classes are the same, however your qualified class leader will provide positioning and developmental information for each activity relevant to the age range of the class. Our 0-6 month classes tend to be a bit more quiet and relaxed, whereas we have a few mobile babies in our 0-13 month classes, and even more in our 7-13 month classes which makes the environment a bit livelier. Mobile babies are very welcome in our classes as it provides a safe space for them to explore, socialize and engage in self-directed play (and our class leaders always love a visitor at the front of the class).
Cost
Classes are $25 each and are run during the school term. If you join part-way through the term, you will only pay for the remaining classes. Each term runs for 7-10 weeks, depending on public holidays etc.
