WOW!! Thank you to our Superheros!!
This March, Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense classes across Australia ran special Superhero Senseathon classes, raising funds to support the vital work of our Australian partner charity, the Miracle Babies Foundation.
A HUGE $35,156 was raised by Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense classes across the country and more than 4,000 families took part in the events. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all our Class Leaders and Franchisees, Superhero families, toddlers and babies and their supporters.
132 babies are born each day requiring specialised care, and Miracle Babies need our help to help support these little miracles and their families.
Thanks to the wonderful Senseathon event, 525 more families with a premature or sick newborn will have access to life-changing support from Miracle Babies Foundation’s NurtureProgram over the next 12 months.
Every year, more than 48,000 babies are born premature or sick, requiring the specialised care of the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) or SCN (Special Care Nursery). Some of these families, are those very families who helped to make this event a success.
The Senseathon events were an Australia first, as part of a newly formed collaboration between Miracle Babies Foundation and Baby Sensory Australia & New Zealand.
Many Miracle families are already involved in Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense Classes, to help their child progress developmentally in a fun and social setting, alongside other parents.
For babies born premature or sick, there can often be a delay when meeting developmental milestones and these children are at a greater risk of these developmental delays and challenges throughout their early life. The collaboration with Miracle Babies Foundation and Baby Sensory Australia & New Zealand has provided the opportunity to both celebrate our Miracle Families and raise much needed awareness of challenges associated with prematurity and sickness at birth.
Meet some of Baby Sensory & Toddler Sense’s own Miracle Families…
Money raised through the events will go toward the Miracle Babies NurtureProgram, including 24 Hour Family Support Line (NurtureLine), In-Hospital Support (NurtureTime) and out-of-hospital play and support groups (NurtureGroup), designed to connect families with others who have been through a similar experience.
